What is Podiatry?

 

Podiatry is a specific field of allied health that is primarily focused on the foot and the ankle. Podiatrists diagnose and treat an array of different foot and ankle pathologies.

Podiatrists deal with common foot complaints, which may include:​

  • Heel and arch pain

  • Foot pain associated with flat feet

  • Painful corns and callouses

  • Painful and reoccurring ingrown toenails

  • Thickened or fungal toenails

  • Foot warts

  • Sport specific injuries
